Religious education is offered to children and teens, preschool through confirmation age and focuses on deepening and growing someone’s understanding of their faith in God. There is a program for everyone who needs to prepare to receive the Sacraments. The various classes Assumption provides include yearlong preparation classes for Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation and RCIC, along with 12-week summer classes for those who do not fall under the typical age range for Reconciliation and First Communion.

The sponsor’s purpose is to mentor, accompany and help the teens live according to the catholic faith.
Like the god-parents, sponsors must know what it is to live the catholic faith in order to pass it on.

Many volunteers are needed so that the teaching of God’s Word, the Good News of God’s love, will be effective, joyful, and peace-filled this year. Please consider volunteering in one of these areas to help.

NOTE:

For families with children preparing for 1st Communion/Reconciliation or Confirmation:
We will need a brand-new copy of the baptismal certificate (sent from the church where your child was baptized) before the children can receive their sacraments. The baptizing church will send it to us at your request, this can take a while so please notify them asap.

Sacramental Prep: We’ll need a new copy of the baptismal certificate sent to:
Assumption 51 w 7th street, St Paul MN 55102 (attention: Religious Education).
